Katja is a painter, born 1979 in Murska Sobota, Slovenia. Her adventure on the battlefield called Art begun as early as her high school years when she joined LindArt-Young Artists Association in 1995. This gesture highly determined her artistic path while giving an opportunity to be engaged in the regional art scene. She annually attended summer Fine Arts Symposiums and participated on numerous group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. 2010 Katja received her MFA in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts, Ljubljana and since travelled the world as a freelancer. While her artistic research regularly deals with the relationship between a painting and its beholder, the means that she uses to address the viewer unpredictably vary: from humorous almost illustrative imagery all the way to geometrical illusionism. Katja is also the co-founder & manager of the so called “co-operate” art project, organised annually in Lendava (SI).
